We no longer provide a small range of brand new custom built computers, but will still build you a new one, based on your specification, or ours, please contact us for further details.
All new computers are built to the highest standards and are supplied with a full parts and labour warranty. We will match our competitors prices if you can show us they are performing the same services and providing the same features at a lower cost.
Diagnostics-Fault Analysis:
We have a range of both hardware and software diagnostics equipment. Plugged into, or used as a scanner, on your computer, these will run a series of tests over a period of time, checking all of the computer`s hardware components. Useful for detecting hard to find faults and malfunctions. Also providing us with a guaranteed diagnosis of the correct failing part.This service is included free with all other services.
Please be aware, for the best results, this test should be left running over at least one whole day.

Computer Repairs:
All computer repairs are charged as below. We offer the following rates: Fixed Fee Charges. "Quick Fix" if fixed within 30 minutes. £10.00 New parts charged extra. "Standard Fix" where more than 30 minutes are required. £25.00 New parts charged extra. All computers brought to us, or collected by us,(Standard Fix only) will receive a free diagnostics check, followed by a free malicious software scan, for viruses, trojan horses, rootkits, bots etc and a free backup of all personal documents for safe keeping. This includes, music downloads, pictures, video`s, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, word processor documents, spreadsheets etc and emails (using MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express, MS Windows mail etc). Email address book. In the event of a total system restore, the service will also include all Windows updates and service packs, Re-activation of Windows with the Microsoft servers and a free trial version of Eset Smart Security or the re-installation of your own current firewall and anti virus software. Please note: This service is not available with the "Quick Fix" option, but may be offered to you as an extra service for an additional fee, if you require. Repair charges are as follows; Home Visits: We will visit your home or office etc at your request. If your computer can be rectified within 30 minutes, we will offer to do so, under the "Quick Fix" scheme at a total charge of £10.00 plus any required new parts. In the event an effective repair is not possible within this time period, we will, with your consent, bring your computer back to our workshops, where the repair will be completed, following which it will be returned to the place from where collected and re-connected to your exisiting internet service and one other item such as a printer. Other items connected and setup at extra cost. The total charges will be £25.00 plus the initial £10.00 (£35.00). New parts will be included at extra cost. Please note: Due to the time required to perform the free scans for malicious software and hardware diagnostics scans etc, this service cannot be included with the initial "quick fix" service charged at just £10.00, but will be included in all cases where the computer has to be brought to our workshops. Computers Delivered To Us: Customers who bring their computers straight to us shall receive the same "Quick Fix" option, whereby if their computer is repairable within 30 minutes, the full labour cost will be £10.00. New parts charged in addition. If the repair requires longer, then the full £25.00 "Standard Fix" applies, but in this case, because you have brought the computer to us, the initial £10.00 fee will not be applicable. Again, under the "Quick Fix" option, it will not be possible to perform all the additional scans detailed above, but they will be included under the "Standard Fix" service.

System Reformat-Reinstall:
There comes a time when your system begins to slow down, freeze or crash.Many of these symptoms are usually attributed to a virus or other infection, but over a period of several months or years, could be just simply your operating system beginning to play up.This could be caused by incomplete or faulty software installation or removal, incompatible software, out of date device drivers or hardware, computer misuse, such as not shutting down or switching off properly, etc.
The solution is to simply reinstall the whole computer from scratch, in many cases restoring it to how it was when it left the factory. There are a number of ways this has to be done, depending on some computer manufacturers and systems. We will restore it back to it`s original working condition at the same fixed price, irrespectively. This would mean everything currently stored on your computer, normally being completely lost! Here at Simply Computers we will offer to save your personal documents at no extra cost, giving you that extra peace of mind, all inclusive in the cost.
You will be required to provide us with any disks that were originally supplied with your computer when you first bought it, if you have them available, or they were supplied. Please let us know if you cannot find them, or never had them. Sometimes they were not provided because your computer may have a "mirrored image" of your system within a designated area of your hard drive, from which it can be restored to exactly how it was when you first purchased it.
We will automatically offer to back up your personal data, emails, email address book, as part of the service before we reformat and re-partition your computer.Following the proceedure, the Operating system and all associated drivers and software will be installed, to ensure maximum operating efficiency, together with all Windows updates and activation. Please note: You will require a suitable anti virus/firewall installation following reformatting,please bring yours with you if you have a disk, with your software. I not, we sell the World`s best Firewall/anti-virus solution, please ask for details. Alternatively, we can install a months free trial, should you wish, to allow you to consider it first. Total cost, £25.00 all in. Fixed fee.

Upgrades - Hardware Installation :
We will upgrade your computer to satisfy your requirements. Advising, where necessary, against choosing the wrong part to match your system and ensuring everything is fully compatible and cost effective.We will, of course, install and configure all necessary drivers and associated software. £10.00 per one to three items installation.

Data Safekeeping-Copying:
We appreciate everyone keeps important data on their computers. That`s why we understand it`s importance to you and your desire to keep it, whether it be family photographs, music downloads, important letters, spreadsheets, database catalogues and so forth. Here, at Simply Computers, we want to save your data for you to avoid you having to either gather it all over again, or be lost without it.
We will offer to save your vital data included in the cost of your repair.
Alternatively, we offer a full data backup service, priced at just £15.00, up to two standard cd roms (730 mb) each. Additional disks priced at £3.00 each.

Software Installation-Including Firewall and Anti Virus:
We will install your required new software for you, including configuration for just £10.00 per item.
This includes new Anti Virus and Firewall software, either of your choice or advised by ourselves. Installed free as part of a new computer system or repair package.
Actual cost of the software in addition to the labour costs.

Malicious Software Detection - Removal (Malware):
We will investigate the best way to remove all malicious software infections, once detected and will advise accordingly prior to any action.

Data Recovery Services:
The recovery of valuable data, lost, as either the result of a malicious software infection, a disk drive or other component error, computer sabotage or other means!
We will endeavour to recover such data from hard disks, flash drives, floppy, CD, DVD disks, Ipods, Mobile phones, external hard disks etc, etc.
Full hard disks (any size), including external drives, full recovery, £50.00 (please be mindful, this can be a long job!) All other items, £20.00.
Please note: In cases of hard drive/disk failure. The disk has to be able to "power up" and "spin" before data can be recovered. Cases where the drive is totally "dead" will not allow us the recovery option and should be referred to a specialist company that deals with a "clean room" environment. If in doubt, please ask.

New Computer Builds:
We no longer provide a small selection of brand new computers. Due to continuous changes in technology and prices. However, we still
build new computers to your own individual requirements on request. We are always happy to give free impartial advice and to discuss your personal needs and specification. We will either supply the required parts, or you can bring them to us and we will assemble them for you. Cost, £35.00 per computer build.
Please note, in cases where you supply your own components, we can not be held responsible for incompatability issues or faulty parts etc.

New Computers - Delivery, Installation:
You can have your new computer (whether supplied and built by us or not), delivered and installed, which includes connection to your current internet connection and a separate device like a printer. There is a charge of £25.00 for this service up to and including 10 miles of Nottingham City centre. If you live outside this area, please contact us for further pricing.

Data Destruction:
If you are thinking of selling your computer or upgrading your hard disk drive to a larger one, it would be advisable to have the existing computer/hard drive "secure wiped." This is a process whereby all data is completely rendered unreadable. Currently, if you simply delete your data or re-format your computer hard drive, although it appears your information has completely gone, in fact, it hasn`t. Some simple "recovery" software can easilly recover what you thought you had deleted and reinstate it for everyone to read. This process is actually "data recovery" and allows such as us, to get back data you may think you have lost, but also allows, undesirable persons to do the same, usually with regard to recovering your financial and surfing details, passwords, personal data etc.
Here, at Simply Computers, we have the equipment to ensure, when your personal data is deleted, it stays that way and cannot be read by anyone else. How much does it cost?
You would be surprised, for a hard disk drive, any size, we charge a mere £20.00. Anything else, CD/DVD, Floppys, Smart Media cards, Flash/Pen drives etc, just £10.00.
