So this means, you can have Windows re-installed or a new faulty power supply replaced, have an upgrade on your memory, have some new software installed, maybe a new graphics card upgrade and ALL YOU PAY IS JUST £25.00 labour charges if you BRING your computer to us, OR JUST £30.00 labour charges if we come to you and collect your computer, bring it back here and then return it to you on completion, and don`t forget, in the latter case, we also plug it back in, setup your internet connection and re-install one additional item, such as your printer,(within a ten miles radius of our Arnold Workshop, add £1.00 per mile over this for distances over the initial 10 miles.) ALL INCLUSIVE!!

The total cost will be dependent on the required new parts you choose following consultation. However, the total labour cost for all of this will be a maximum £25.00 fixed fee, on computers brought to us. Computers collected will be charged more depending on the distance.

We will offer to take your existing old computer from you and either secure wipe the hard disk drive, or destroy the same, if you desire. This is our alternative to our full system upgrade detailed above.

Our two basic services are as follows: "Quick Fix." and "Standard Fix."

Under the "Quick Fix" scheme, we aim to try and give you a fast solution at low cost to a minor repair or problem with your computer. No spare parts are included in the price, as we would not be able to charge our low fee for this service and none of the additional services offered free with our "Standard Fix" can also be included.

Basically, under the "Quick Fix," the problem must be a minor one, a good example would be to replace the power supply, or a graphics/sound card, faulty memory module etc. The "Quick Fix" scheme offers a repair with a time limit of 30 minutes maximum. This begins when we examine you system, not when travelling etc.

All other repairs would be performed under the "Standard Fix" scheme, where more time is needed either for investigative skills or where repairs naturally take a longer period of time, such as the re-installation of the Windows operating system for example, or where a problem keeps re-occurring but is hard to track down.

Computers may either be brought straight to us, or alternatively, we will come to visit you. If you choose for us to visit you, we do have a "call out" system, to make it fairer for our clients who bring them straight to us and collect them on completion. Our call out system is detailed below and will eventually be your final labour charge if successful:

We charge £1.00 per mile to visit you, but the minimum charge is £10.00, based on a radius of up to 10 miles from our Arnold base. The additional £1.00 per mile covers those who are resident or work over this boundary. We "round up" to the nearest pound, but we only charge "one way," so the call out fee is whatever mileage over 10 miles applies to you, not doubled, even though in certain circumstances we may be making up to four separate journeys to and from you.

In other words, you live within or upto 10 miles from us, so your cost will be £10.00. Or, you live within, or upto 12 miles from us, so your cost would be £12.00, 17 miles = £17.00 and so on.

There is no call out charge for those who bring their computers straight to us and collect it again, following completion.

The only other charge you could incur, would be to allow us to come to you, remove your computer from the premises and then to change your mind and cancel any previous instruction to us, in which case we reserve our right to charge a £25.00 delivery fee as well as the initial call out, unless you collect the computer from us, in which case we will only charge the initial call out.

All visits by us to you will be treated initially as a "Quick Fix" as our aim is to get you up and running at the lowest possible cost.

But what happens if it goes wrong?

If we are unable to repair your computer within the allocated 30 minutes, because it either doesn`t fit the "Quick Fix" or because there are other issues or problems. You have one of the following choices:

Therefore, 15 miles = £15, 20 miles = £20, 40 miles = £40 an so on.

All the above fees are charged once only, which means, if we come to you, bring the computer back, then return it to you when completed, plus re-connect it and connect it back to your internet service and your printer, the callout fee still remains the same.

Please note, the call out fee will be added to our "Standard Fix" fee in all cases where computers are brought back to our Workshops and then returned to you.

The solution is to simply reinstall the whole computer from scratch, in many cases restoring it to how it was when it left the factory. There are a number of ways this has to be done, depending on some computer manufacturers and systems. We will restore it back to it`s original working condition at the same fixed price, irrespectively.

This would mean everything currently stored on your computer, normally being completely lost! Here at Simply Computers we will offer to save your personal documents at no extra cost, giving you that extra peace of mind, all inclusive in the cost.

You will be required to provide us with any disks that were originally supplied with your computer when you first bought it, if you have them available, or they were supplied. Please let us know if you cannot find them, or never had them. Sometimes they were not provided because your computer may have a "mirrored image" of your system within a designated area of your hard drive, from which it can be restored to exactly how it was when you first purchased it.

We will automatically offer to back up your personal data, emails, email address book, as part of the service before we reformat and re-partition your computer.Following the proceedure, the Operating system and all associated drivers and software will be installed, to ensure maximum operating efficiency, together with all Windows updates and activation.

Please note: You will require a suitable anti virus/firewall installation following reformatting,please bring yours with you if you have a disk, with your software. I not, we sell the World`s best Firewall/anti-virus solution, please ask for details. Alternatively, we can install a months free trial, should you wish, to allow you to consider it first.
